Please read these in full before registering your child. Version 1.2-draft.
Scroll to the end of the terms below to continue.
These terms apply between Horizon Tuition Redbridge (โweโ, โusโ) and the parent or guardian registering a child (โyouโ). By completing registration you confirm you have read and accepted them. We recommend keeping a copy.
A place is confirmed once we have received a completed registration and have space in a suitable group. Registration does not by itself guarantee a place in a particular group or at a particular time. We will always tell you which group and time your child has been offered before they begin.
New students receive their first two sessions free on any programme, with no obligation to continue. If you decide not to continue after the free sessions, you owe us nothing.
Our current fees are ยฃ20 for a single session of 1 hour 45 minutes, or ยฃ35 a week for two sessions, which works out at ยฃ17.50 a session. Fees are published at horizontuitionredbridge.co.uk/pricing.
Fees are paid monthly, after the sessions have taken place. At the end of each month we will tell you what is owed for the sessions your child actually attended that month, and we ask for payment within seven days. You are never charged for sessions your child has not attended. We will give you at least four weeks' notice in writing before any change to fees.
There is no fixed notice period. If you want to stop or pause your child's sessions, just tell us, by email or in person. Because fees are paid after sessions rather than in advance, you will never be charged for sessions your child has not attended.
We would ask for as much warning as you can reasonably give, so that we can offer the place to another family and plan our groups.
Because you register online, you have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of registering, without giving a reason, under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. To cancel, email us at info@horizontuitionredbridge.co.uk.
If you ask us to begin sessions during that 14-day period, and you then cancel, you agree to pay for any sessions your child has already attended. Your free sessions remain free.
If your child cannot attend, please tell us as early as you can.
Where a session is missed, it is up to you to arrange a replacement with us. We will do our best to find a suitable slot, but a replacement depends on space being available in a comparable group and cannot be guaranteed. As fees are paid after sessions, a missed session is not charged.
If we cancel a session, you will not be charged for it, and we will offer a replacement.
Please arrive on time. Children arriving late join the session already in progress and we cannot extend the session to compensate.
Children must be collected promptly at the end of their session. If a child has not been collected 30 minutes after the session ends and we cannot reach you or your emergency contact, we will follow our safeguarding procedure, which may include contacting Redbridge Children's Services.
We expect students to treat staff, other students and the centre with respect. Where behaviour disrupts other children's learning we will speak to you first and work with you to resolve it. In serious or repeated cases we may ask you to withdraw your child, and will refund any fees paid for sessions not yet taken.
We take safeguarding seriously. All staff with unsupervised access to children hold an enhanced DBS certificate, and we follow Keeping Children Safe in Education and Working Together to Safeguard Children guidance. Our full policy, and how to contact our Designated Safeguarding Lead, is at our safeguarding page.
We may share information with statutory agencies without your consent where we believe a child is at risk of harm. We would normally tell you if we did so, unless doing so would put the child at greater risk.
We will never photograph or film your child without your separate written consent, and consent for one use (for example our website) is not consent for another (for example paid advertising). You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing us, and we will stop using the images going forward.
You must tell us about any medical condition, allergy, medication or additional need relevant to your child's safety or learning, and keep us updated if it changes.
In an emergency we will call the emergency services and then you. If we cannot reach you we will contact your emergency contact. By registering, you authorise us to seek emergency medical treatment for your child if we cannot reach you in time.
We collect and use your and your child's personal data to deliver tuition, keep children safe, and contact you. We handle it in line with UK GDPR and our privacy policy. You can ask to see, correct or delete the data we hold by emailing us.
We will deliver tuition with reasonable care and skill. We cannot guarantee any particular exam result, grade or school place, as these depend on many things outside our control.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot legally be limited.
We may update these terms from time to time. Where a change materially affects you we will give you at least four weeks' notice in writing, and you may end your agreement within that period without giving the usual notice.
