Why we started Horizon

Most children who fall behind are not struggling with the whole subject. They have missed a few specific things along the way, and nobody has had the time to go back and fix them. That is the job we do.

We sit down with every child before they start, so we know what they can already do rather than guessing from their year group. Then they join a small group taught by qualified teachers and experienced subject specialists. We are in Barkingside, and most of our families come from Redbridge, Ilford, Seven Kings and Woodford.

What We Offer

Tuition From Key Stage 1 to GCSE

Every programme runs in small groups, in sessions of 1 hour 45 minutes, at our Barkingside centre. Children are assessed individually before they start, so they are taught at the level they are actually at.

Maths, English and Science from Key Stage 1 through to GCSE, following the National Curriculum.

11+ Preparation

English, maths, verbal and non-verbal reasoning for GL and CSSE, including mock exams sat under timed conditions and returned with feedback.

SATs Preparation

Year 2 and Year 6 SATs across reading, SPaG and maths, with practice papers and exam technique.

GCSE Support

Maths, English and Science across the AQA, Edexcel and OCR specifications, focused on exam technique and past papers.

SEN & Dyslexia Support

Adapted, multi-sensory teaching for children with dyslexia, dyscalculia and ADHD, at a pace that suits them.

Flexible Hours

Mon-Fri 4pm-6:30pm, Saturday 10am-3:45pm, Sunday 12pm-1:45pm. In the rare case hours need to change, we'll always let parents know in advance.
